Irfan Saeed, Mahoor Shahzad pockets National Badminton Tournament Titles

All Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Tournament concluded here at PSP Gymnasium Quetta where Wapda’s Irfan Saeed and Mahoor Shahzad win their respective men’s and women’s singles titles while the department also won the doubles titles in both gender categories in the National Ranking Badminton Tournament in Quetta.  

In the men’s single final, Irfan Saeed played fearlessly against Murad Ali of NBP to win the match by 2-0. In the first game both the players displayed extraordinary show of game and played on each other’s level and after a nail-biting contest Irfan came out victorious with the help of his speed and powerful strokes by 21-18. Irfan played confidently to win the second game by 21-14.

In the women’s single final, 21-year-old Mahoor Shahzad engaged Palwasha Bashir of NBP in long rallies and capitalized on soft opportunities as she maintained her lead throughout the match to win it by 2-1.

Mahoor Shahzad lead the charge from the very beginning as she comfortably positioned herself to won the first game at 21-16. In the second game Palwasha came back strongly to win the game by 21-19.Mahoor continued her aggressive play in the 3nd game also as she didn’t gave any opportunity to Palwasha to play freely. Karachi born Mahoor score consecutive points on her way to secure win in the second game at 21-12.

Mr. Shahid Saleem Secretary Sports youth and culture graced the ceremony as chief guest in his speech before the prize distribution, he appreciate the efforts of Mr. Wajid Ali Chaudhry Secretary General PBF and Mr. Malik Nisar Shahwani President Balochistan Badminton Association. He also communicate the message of peace, brotherhood and prosperity to the guest player male and female. He also insure that in future we will try to facilitate the PBF for the smooth conduct of National events in the region. The trophies and cash prizes were distributed among the players.

On the occasion Mr. Malik Nisar Ahmed Shahwani also thanked Secretary Federation and his management team who done and excellent professional job to conclude the event in a befitting manner.

Irfan Saeed & Azeem Sarwar (Wapda) beat Attique & Raja Hasnain (Wapda) by 21-13, 21-23, 21-15

Women Doubles Final

Saima Waqas (Wapda) & Ghazala Siddique beat Sara Mohmand (NBP) by 21-14, 21-17
