Okara Seniors wins National Seniors Cricket Cup

Okara Seniors defeated Wah Powers by 5 wickets to win the title of 19th National Seniors Cricket Cup at Shah Faisal Cricket Ground.

Wah Powers decided to bat first after winning the toss and posted 238/8 after 30 overs. Yousaf Khan played well for his 66 runs not out while Asif Naeem 36, Muhammad Pervaiz 35, Khurram Shahzad 28, Rashid Latif Junior 25 and Altaf Hussain 22 runs were other top scorers. Muhammad Anees took 3 while Muhammad Hafeez got 2 wickets from Okara Seniors.

In reply, Okara Seniors achieved the target in 28.1 overs for the loss of 5 wickets to win the match by 5 wickets. Muhammad Hafeez remained unbeaten on 76 while Kashif Bajwa 59, Irshad Ahmad 39 and Amir Tauseef 19 were other top scorers. Yousaf Khan took 2 wickets for Wah power.
Muhammad Hafeez was declared man of the match award for his all-round performance. Former test Cricketer Mudassar Nazar was chief guest of the match and he gave away winner trophy and one lac rupees to Okara Captain. Runners up trophy and fifty thousand rupees was received by Wah Power Captain. Shields and Cash award were also distributed among the best players of the tournaments.

Chief Executive PVCA Nawab Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, Intikhab Alam, Syed Azhar Zaidi, Mujahid Hameed, Rizwan Nisar, Najeeb Sadiq, Muhammad Salman Khan, Hammad Maqbool, Shahid Aslam, Khalid Butt, Amer Ilyas Butt, Mian Tassadaq Rasool, International, National Cricketer and Large number of spectators were also present on this occasion.
