Wapda downs Navy, takes 2-0 lead in the National Volleyball series

National champion Wapda outplayed Navy in a second match of the National Volleyball series at the Rajanpur Municipal Stadium.

On the second day of the National Volleyball series Wapda played brilliant match against Navy. Both the teams tries hard to rule the day but Wapda outlasted Navy by 3-2 in a tough competition five sets fixture. 

Wapda came to the court in aggression soon Asif and Mohib put pressure on Navy and made them work hard to earn points. They smashed forcefully and also blocked Navy’s attacks effectively. Younis rescued Wapda and won the consecutive 2 sets by 25-20, 25-20 points.

After losing two sets the Sailors bounced back hard and won the next two sets with a convincing margin by 18-25, 18-25 where amid brilliant smashes of Khalid and Abuzar.

Wapda came furiously over the sailors in the decisive fifth set of the match where Khalid performed brilliantly through his hard smashes and defeated Navy by 15-13.

The President of Punjab volleyball Association along Regional Police officer Dera Ghazi Khan S.Habib Tajek graced the ceremony as a chief guest and announced Rs. 60, 000 for the Wapda team and Rs. 40, 000 for the Navy.

Earlier in the opening match played at the Government Boys High School Rajanpur Wapda defeated Navy with a scores of 21-25, 25-22, 27-25, and 25-20. At the end district council Rajanpur announced a cash prize of Rs. 50, 000 each for both the teams.
