Shaheen Afridi wrecks Ireland in U-19 world cup

Pakistan U-19 secured its first world cup win as they cruises Ireland by 9 wickets in their second group D match, Shaheed Afridi picked up 6 wickets.

Pakistan Under-19 team invited Ireland to bat first after winning the toss. Ireland lost their first four wickets on a score of 34 and Pakistan wrapped Irish innings on just 97 runs in 28.5 overs where Pakistan also gave away 17 extra runs. Joshua Little 24 not out and Sam Murphy 19 were top scorers from Ireland. Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pickup of the bowlers as he razed Irish batting line by picking up 6 wickets for just 15 runs in 8.5 overs.

Skipper Hasan Khan got 3 wickets and Arshad Iqbal ended with 1 wicket.
Pakistan in reply, chased down the target in just 8.5 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Opener Muhammad Zaid Alam blazes quick 43 unbeaten runs in just 19 balls and Hasan Khan remains not out on 27 runs. Only batsman got out was Rohail Nazir as he faced 14 deliveries for his 18 runs. Aaron Cawley picked up the only wicket from Ireland. For his outstanding bowling, Shaheen Afridi was given the man of the match Award.

Pakistan U-19 to play its last group stage match against Sri Lanka on Friday 19th January 2018.
