Navy, Air Force and POF victorious in National Volleyball championship matches

Pakistan Air Force, POF and Navy won their matches on the opening day of National Men’s volleyball championship at POF Sports Complex Wah Cantt.

Pakistan Navy outclassed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in 3 straight sets by 25-21, 25-16, 25-10. Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) team defeated Pakistan youth 3-0 with a score of 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 and in the third match of the day, Pakistan Air force (PAF) outlasted Punjab 3-0 by 25-12, 25-13, 25-13.

Although it was a tough ask for KP team but they fought hard against their experienced opponents Pakistan Navy, however they lost the first game only by four points. In the next two games, Navy defeated KP by a big margin of 25-16, 25-10. KP team lost their interest in the match in the third game which they lost by 15 points. Khalid and Abubakr smashed brilliantly for Navy, especially Abuzar performed extraordinary and earned many points for his team.

In the next match, hosts POF however registered win but Pakistan Youth played exceptionally well against the hosts. Pakistan youth played brilliantly in the first 2 games and showed how well they get training from their Iranian coach. After losing the two games they almost won the third game by 21-19.

PAF easily downs Punjab as the Punjabians had no answer of the powerful smashes of PAF captain Binyamin, who not only kept the side but also get the whole team together on the other hand Fayyaz blocked the opponents effectively.

Earlier, the championship commenced amid a graceful ceremony during which school girls displayed wonderful Tablu on the beat of drum before a jam packed Complex. POF Board Member Abdul Aziz Shaikh was the chief guest. Today (Tuesday) fixtures: Pakistan Juniors vs Pakistan Board, Railways Vs Police, Balochistan Vs POF, Sindh Vs Wapda.
