Former Pakistan No.1 Nasir Iqbal wins 7th connective PSA title!

Former world no.35 Nasir Iqbal trounced Israr Ahmad 3-2 to win the $1000 PSF-Punjab Satellite Squash Tournament 2020 at the Punjab Squash Complex, Lahore.

Former Pakistan No.1 Nasir faltered at the beginning as Israr took a solid 2-0 lead. But Nasir, retrieval skills and graceful movement around the court was breathtaking as he picked up the majority of what Israr threw at him and counter attacked superbly to wrap up the remaining three games and clinched the title.


British Junior champion Nasir fought for 62 minutes on the court to win the final against a rather less experienced, but former Asian Junior champion Israr Ahmad following an 11-13, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-5 victory.

With this win Nasir has improved his international rankings substantially as he jumped to the 234 spot from 259. He won seven connective satellite international events which helped him achieve the current rankings.
