Hassan clinches Inter-Karachi chess event title

Raja Hassan Fayyaz of Fast National University was crowned as winner of the MAJU Inter-Karachi chess championship 2016 organised by Muhammad Ali Jinnah University in collaboration with Mind Sports Association of Pakistan.

A total of ten universities namely Bahria University Karachi Campus, Fast National University, Indus University, Iqra University, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, NED University, PAF KIET — Main Campus, SZABIST and Usman Institute of Technology participated in the event.

The format of the event was Swiss Movement of four rounds. Tariq Rasheed Khan, Director Mind Sports Association of Pakistan (MSAP) and Shahzad Mirza International Chess Master were the chief guests during the closing ceremony of the tournament. Total prize money was Rs. 20,000 for the top four position holders.
