Punjab tame Sindh to win women rocball title

Punjab women’s team got the better of Sindh by 2-1 in a thrilling final to win the National Women Rocball Championship at Lahore College for Women University here on Tuesday.

Islamabad claimed third position.

Eight teams competed in the event including Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Culligan Pakistan, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdul Razak Gill, Secretary Sports, Wapda Sports Board was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the cash prizes and trophies among the teams. Winners Punjab got Rs 15,000 while runner-up Sindh team received Runner Rs 10,000.

Tanveer from Sindh team was declared the best player of the championship.

At the end, Ume Laila Kalsoom, General Secretary Pakistan Rocball Federation, announce that Pakistan rocball men and women teams will compete in the Asian Championship at Nepal in May this year.
