Waqar Khan Memorial 2nd National Rated Chess Championship postponed

A total of three category competitions are to held in the 2019 Waqar Khan Memorial National Rated Chess Championship which was scheduled on 14th July but now have been postponed to a new date.

For some undisclosed reasons, the Waqar Khan Memorial National Rated Chess Championship 2019 have been postponed and now will be held in this week while the final date is yet to be announced. 

Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) and PAK Chess Club (PCC) is going to organize another mega chess event, into the current year which will mark it's second edition.

This event will be hosted by Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) and Lahore District Chess Association (LDCA). This event will have competitions in three categories which are: Open, Women and Under-20 years of Women.

This championship is open as no age/gender restriction has been applied and Entry fee has been set as Rupees 1000/- while for Women and Under-20 chess players, it is 500 Rupees.
Total rounds will be 5 with time control of 20+10 and the competitions will begin from 11:00 AM and on-wards.

This mega event is offering an attractive prize pursue for the top ten position holders in each category among which the title winner will be awarded with a cash prize of Rupees 5,000 while the runner up will get 3,000 Rupees. The third position holder will bag Rupees 2,000 worth of cash prize.

Fourth and Fifth spot winners will get 1,500 Rupees prize whereas sixth to tenth position gainers will be having cash prizes of Rupees 1,000 each.
