Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Open Chess Championship 2019 from June 14

Lahore Grammar School (LGS) is all set to organize a mega chess festival which has been named as "Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Open Chess Championship 2019". This event will be hosted by Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP).

The said festival consists of three parallel events; 

1. LGS Open Chess Championship 2019 (Standard Fide Rated)

2. LGS U-19 Chess Championship 2019 (Rapid)

3. LGS Women Chess Championship 2019 (Only female players)

LGS Open Chess Championship 2019 (Standard Fide Rated) will be played under swiss league system with 6 rounds with a time control of 60+30. Each day 2 rounds will be played from 14 to 16 June. 

No age/gender restriction has been applied. CFP registration is considered mandatory/ all participants must have Fide ID Number (FIN). Fide rated players coming from outside of Punjab will be entitled to free entry and free accommodation subject to their registration through relevant provincial Association (Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan).

Entry fee is Rs. 1000/- for Fide rated players and Rs. 2000/- for not rated. Fide Event code is 220856. Reporting time has been set as 10:00 AM on 14th June and the first round will start at 11:00 AM. Swiss Manager pairing software will be used. To maintain score sheet will be mandatory.

LGS U-19 Chess Championship 2019 (Rapid) will be played on 15th June (1 day event) under swiss league system. Total rounds will be 5 with time control of 10+10. Entry fee is Rs. 500/-. For this event as well, the reporting time has been set as 10:00 AM and the first round will begin at 11:00 AM. Swiss Manager pairing software will be used. Participants must have a proof of age.

LGS Women Chess Championship 2019 is only for female players of any age group, that will be played on 16th June (1 day event) under swiss league system. Total rounds will be 5 with time control of 15+10. Entry fee is Rs. 500/- and the reporting and first round commencing timings are same as the other two, above mentioned events.

Note: In case player/s with 2200 or plus rating enters, the time control will be 90+30. Rest of the parameters will remain the same.
