Khyber Pakhtunkhwa crown 1st District Nazim KPK Chess Championship

Salman Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands at the top spot in the District Nazim KPK Chess Championship 2019 which successfully concluded at Government College in Peshawar.

Chess Federation f Pakistan (CFP) in collaboration of District  Sports Office (DSO) organized the first ever District Nazim Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chess Championship into the current year that featured a total of about 70 talented players from all around the country.  

06 rounds were played with 30 minutes plus 30 seconds increment from move one and the championship was held at the Government College in Peshawar. Competitions were held in both male and female categories. 

Deputy Commission Peshawar, Dr. Imran Hamid was the honorable chief guest who graced the championship open while at the concluding ceremony, Nazim Peshawar, Asim Khan along with  Regional Sports Officer, Jamshaid Khan, was the guest of honor who also awarded the top 10 high achievers of the championship with several cash prizes and trophies. 

The title of the championship was claimed by the talent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salman Khan. He was followed by Karachi's Muhammad Shahzaib who now stands as the runner-up and the third position went to Amir belonging to Lahore. 

Other players who got successful in the championship are: Ehtesham Ul Haq, Inaam Ullah, Muhammed Zahid, Zorez Shabkhez, Mobeen Ud Din and Saira Rafique.  

At the end, Nazim Peshawar, Asim Khan thanked all the players for showing up in this championship and he said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in the sports field, this soil has birthed several keen players who did not just made the nation proud on national level but also honored our flag in many international events. He also lauded the efforts of Regional Sports Officer, Jamshaid Khan for making every possible event a success.
