Tri-Nation Kabaddi Series 2019 gets underway

Pakistan, Iran and India are all set to compete against each other in this 7-day Triangular Kabaddi Series that will roll into from today and will continue till 14th January at four different venues.

 

The Three Nation Kabaddi Series is being organized by Punjab Government in collaboration with Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) which is featuring Kabaddi teams from three different nations including: India, Iran and Pakistan.

Kabaddi players belonging from these three nations will be competing with all their skill and passion for the sport in the upcoming matches so as to win the title as well as the trophy of the series.

As informed by Punjab Sports Minister and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) the matches of the Triangular Series are to held at four different venues of Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Lahore. Jhang will host opening clash between Pakistan Green and India while the grand final clash of the mega event will be staged in Lahore on 13th January.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said that the International Kabaddi Taakra is being organized after 11 years. “Punjab Government, as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is making serious efforts for the revival of traditional games especially Kabaddi,” he added.

He also said that Kabaddi is one of the oldest traditional games and most popular among the masses. Kabaddi is undoubtedly the identity of Subcontinent especially Punjab. The traditional games like Kabaddi keep young generation healthy and active.

Today, Pakistan White kabaddi team will play Iran in the opening clash at 02:00 PM while in the other match Pakistan White kabaddi team will face the arc-rivals, India at 03:00 PM in Jhang.
