Maria Toorpaki wins the Silver Medal for Pakistan in SAF Games 2006

Maria Toorpaki wins the silver medal in the Sqaush women. She was defeated by Indian Joshna Chinappa in the final. Joshna Chinappa won 10-12, 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7 in the final

Maria Toorpaki of Pakistan won the Silver medal here in India in the South Asian Games 2016 in the Squash Women event. She was defeated by Joshna Chinappa in the final. 

it was a hard fought battle by both the players. Despite being ranked 14th in the World rankings, Joshna Chinappa had to battle all his heart out to defeat Maria in the final. 

Maria won the first set by 10-12 but then Indian Joshna fought back well to win the 3 set in the row 11-7, 11-9, 11-7 respectively. Maria was injured in the second set when blood came out of her left eye brow after a contact with Chinappa during the rally. The play was stopped and Maria was given a medical aid immediately.After that injury Maria looked tentative and Indian Joshna grabbed the opportunity and started dominating the play. 

Maria lost the next 3 sets though all were fought well despite the injury. Joshna claimed the Gold medal and Maria Toorpaki was awarded Silver medal. 

In the bronze medal match Said won the Bronze Medal for the country.
