PAF, PSF & Serena hotel to hold two Squash championships

Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Squash Federation in collaboration with Serena hotel are to hold 2 international squash events from Sunday 17th to Sunday 24th December 2017.

In a joint press conference held by the three parties of the joint venture, one of its own kind promotion-plan for Squash was announced. As a part of promotion, two International Squash Championships in International Squash Series 2017 have been announced to inaugurate in December 2017.  The said series i.e. Chief of Air Staff International Women’s Championship and Pakistan Open Men’s Squash Championship are said to continue from 17th to 24th of this month.

The plan has its roots anchored in a “Sports Diplomacy initiative” by Serena Hotels four years back which vows to bring the lost “not-so-long-ago” pride back to the country. The frequency and number of squash players visiting Pakistan after the said initiative has seen a dramatic mount as a result of increased number of contests. Top ranking players from around the world including Egypt, Hong Kong, Malaysia, England, Australia, USA, India, France, Spain, Wales, Portugal, Ireland, Switzerland and Iran have been anticipated to compete against Pakistan in the upcoming series.

Speaking in the press conference, CEO Serena Hotels, Mr. Aziz Boolani highlighted the role of Pakistan and our top ranking players in building world Squash. He added that the initiative has been taken to reclaim our legacy. He also appreciated the role and efforts of Pakistan Squash Federation and Pakistan Air Force in arranging the series and promoting Squash.
