Navy adds 4 more Golds to Medal tally of National Games Sailing competitions

The enthusiastic sailors of Pakistan Navy have clinched 7 Gold Medals in the sailing competitions of 33rd National Games Peshawar 2019.

 
Commander Muhammad Akram Tariq Secretary General Pakistan Sailing Federation, the organising secretary of sailing event, announced that the enthusiastic sailors of Pakistan Navy have clinched 7 Gold Medals in the sailing competitions of 33rd National Games Peshawar 2019.  

The competitions are being organized near Oyster Rocks Clifton Beach Karachi.

Defending champions Pakistan Navy have exhibited admirable performance as they have seized 7 medals in 7 events out of 8 different classes of boats i.e. 470 Class, Laser Standard, RSX Windsurfing, Enterprise, Optimist Boys and Optimist Girls and Match Racing Event in J/80 Class of Boat.

They are followed by the PAF with one gold, three silver and equal number of bronze. By winning the gold in 4.7 class, the airmen denided Navy a clean sweep. The sailors of Navy have achieved their success in Optimist boys and girls, 470 class, Laser Standard, RSX Windsurfing, Enterprise and Match Racing. Their only silver came in 4.7 class.

The Team Racing event is in progress and concludes on Thursday(tomorrow).

Navy’s team comprising five sailors clinched gold in the Match Racing by getting the better of Army in the final. The PAF had to be content with bronze. The Navy team consists of CPO/PTI Najeebullah Khan, CPO/PTI Qasim Abbas, CPO/PTI Khalid Hussain, PO/PTI Rehmanullah and PO/PTI Tariq Ali.
