Pakistan wins 2 Gold & 4 Bronze in Al Bareh International Sailing Regatta 2019

The Al Bareh International Sailing Regatta 2019 concluded successfully where Pakistani fledgling sailing stars showed excellent performance as they bagged 2 Gold and 4 Bronze medals at Bahrain.

National Champion Najeeb Ullah Khan of Navy won gold medal in Laser Radial (open) category which is the most competitive class in the world while in Optimist Class(Boys U12), Master Muhammad Yousaf Baig won another Gold medal for Pakistan.

Muhammad Tanveer of PAF presented a unique set of physical and skill-based challenges to secure bronze in Laser Standard.

In the Optimist Class(U15), Muhammad Abdullah endure the straight-legged hiking and body-torque techniques required to get upwind and reach quickly to bag the bronze medal.

In Optimist Class overall(Girls), Zoya Asad Ali showed great skills in the sea to win bronze while talented Zoya secured another bronze in the Optimist Class (Girls U12) category.

Pakistan Sailing team participated in individual events of Laser, Standard, 4.7 and Optimist class. Earlier, Pakistan Sailing team won bronze medals in 2012 in laser radial category and 2013 in laser standard.

A ten-member Pakistan contingent participated in the 24th Al-Bareh International Sailing Regatta which took place under the aegis of Bahrain Maritime Sports Association, Kingdom of Bahrain.
