Pakistan scoops 1 gold & 3 silver medals in 16th Asian Indoor Rowing Championships

Making the nation proud, Pakistani rowers bagged 1 gold and 3 silver medals in the prestigious Asian Indoor Rowing Championships 2019 which successfully concluded in Bangkok, Thailand.

All leading countries of Asia competed in this prestigious event in which rowers from Pakistan were able to win one gold medal and managed to claim three silver medals in different categories and made the country proud with their splendid performance at these championships. Pakistan won gold in the Mix Four event leaving India behind on the second spot. The one's won won the gold for Pakistan are: Maqbool Ali, Hamid Ali, Razia Hanif, Naila Bano (Open Weight Four-Relay).

In heavy double sculls, Pakistan won silver medal. Pakistan also won silver medal in para single scull event where Pakistani single sculler Manzar Yaqoob performed extremely well and recorded his name in the history. In the event of light weight mix four, Pakistan again grabbed second position, winning silver medal.

Pakistan Rowing Federation President, Rizwan Ul Haq, appreciated the rowers’ performance in the Bangkok competition, and congratulated the players, coaches and other team officials for their remarkable show in the continental championships.

2. Open Weight Pir (Men) — silver medal: Mirza Amjad Baig, Wali Ullah
3. PARA Single (Men) — silver medal: Manzar Khursheed
4. Light Weight Four (Relay) — silver medal: Arif Jutt, Abdul Jabbar, Razia Hanif, Naila Bano.
