Army, WAPDA & SSGC successful in 64th National Track Cycling Championship

Army, WAPDA and SSGC registered wins on the second day of the on-going 64th National Men and Women Track Cycling Championship at Qaddafi Stadium Cycling Velodram in Lahore.

Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) with the collaboration of SSGC Sports Board has organized the 64th edition of National Men and Women Cycling Championship which is featuring competitions in both Senior and Junior categories.   

A total of nine teams belonging to 4 provinces and 5 departments of Pakistan are seen racing through the crowd along with other participants to achieve top honors in the championship. The event has nine Senior (Men/Women) and three Junior cycling events.

Participating teams include: Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Army, WAPDA, PO Wah and SSGC.

On the final day of the championship, two competitions were held in Sprint Women Elite and Elimination Race categories. In Sprint Women Elite competition, Army’s Sabiha claimed the first spot and she was followed by Fiza Riaz from WAPDA. The third spot went to Raheela of SSGC.

Similarly, in the Elimination Race Army’s Sabiha once again proved her speed and skill of cycling by winning gold medal at the top spot while SSGC this time stood second through Raheela etching her name on the Silver medal. Whereas Anum of WAPDA finished third.

On the concluding ceremony of the championship, President Punjab Cycling Association, Moazzam Khan was the honorable chief guest who also awarded the high achievers with prizes and medals.
