First Tour De Khunjrab cycling race starts today

Twelve teams from different countries are participating in international cycling race, Tour de Khunjrab to be held from 10-13 May in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Gilgit-Baltistan government in collaboration with Pakistan Cycling Federation is organizing the Tour De Khunjerab cycle race to promote tourism in the region. Twelve teams from different countries are participating in cycling race. International cyclists participating in the race have come from United States, Afghanistan, Switzerland, Australia, and Britain.  

According to official schedule, first leg of 73km race started today from Bab-e-Gilgit and they will stay night at Rakaposhi viewpoint in Nagar. National and International participants of the race will spend the second night at Sost in Upper Hunza and the second leg of 87km race will proceed on 13th May towards Pakistan-China border, in Khunjrab that lies at an elevation of 15,300 feet.
