Wapda, Army seals National Road Cycling Championships

WAPDA won the Men’s title while Pakistan Army got Women’s title and SSGC secured the third spot in 3rd National Road Cycling Championships at Peshawar sports complex.

About 150 male and female cyclists from different teams participated in the National Road Cycling Championships where one way 14 kilometer track of Northern bypass used for the competition on both ways. 

In the Men’s 70km road race was clinched by Wapda’s Nisar, Sabir, Najeeb, Azatullah and Owais in one hour, 29 minutes 45 seconds followed by Army team in one hour, 33 minutes 23 seconds with remaining positions going to SSGC, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

DG Sports KP Mr junaid khan graced the ceremony as chief guest and distributed medals and trophies amongst the winners. He announced that KP Govt has acquired 80 canal lands for the construction of Peshawar Velodrome at Gari Bloch.
