KPK tests Army in National cycling championship

KPK challenges Pakistan Army’s domination in the ongoing National cycling championship at the cycling velodrome Lahore.

On the second day of National cycling championship in Elite and Junior categories, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shows its presence and challenged the domination of Pakistan Army in the event. On the first day Pakistan Army won 3 out of 5 events while on day 2, KPK won 2 out of 3 events.

In Boys 2000 meters individual pursuit, Tanzeel Khan of KPK won the junior event while in the Girls 2000 meters individual pursuit, Faryal Khan from KPK also won the gold medal in junior category.

Pakistan Army’s won the Women’s 3000 Meter Team Pursuit (Elite) where its cyclists Sabiha Zahid, Nida Fatima, Razia, and Farah won the gold medal. Pakistan Army leads the Medal table with 4 Gold Medals while KPK is on the 2nd position with 3 Gold & 1 Bronze while Pakistan WAPDA stands on 3rd position with 1 Gold, 2 Silver & 1 Bronze medal.

Large number of general public and sports related persons watched the thrilling events of day second of the track championships.

Event- Women’s 3000 Meter Team Pursuit (Elite)

Sabiha Zahid, Nida Fatima, Razia, Farah from Pakistan Army in 00:04:23:31 (Gold)
Fiza Riaz, Anum Mehmood, Ayesha Ameen, Rashida Munir from Pakistan Wapda in 00:04:29:70 (Silver)
